Voodoo dolls

I've been busy making Voodoo dolls again :) I haven't had any listed in my Etsy shop for a little while which is a shame as they are always good sellers.
I usually make them in various different colours but I found the black ones tend to sell quite quickly and I often get messages asking when the black will be back in stock so....

I've decided to make all my listed Voodoo dolls in black with a little note on the listing to say I can do custom orders in any colour you want, makes sense right? :)
You can find them listed here

Bina the Bear amigurumi

This is the first Lalylala pattern I have followed, with it being so big it took a while but it was worth it :)
It's measures roughly 15 inches tall and is made with Hayfield Bonus dk that I picked up at Hobbycraft in the 3 for 2 offer.

As I'm not a confident knitter I had to do my own thing for the scarf. I kept it simple - it's five stitches wide and alternating rows of double crochet and treble crochet. I think it worked out pretty cute :)

Alex Kidd cross stitch frame

Although I stitched this a little while ago I've only just gotten around to framing it and listing it for sale in my Etsy shop.

I loved playing Alex Kidd as a child, I didn't have a great deal of skill but I was brilliant at level 1 lol. My brother has always been really good at computer games though, so I spent hours watching him (it was the only way I got to see the end scenes of my favourite games!)  I'm happy to say my gaming skills have improved since those days :)

Cross stitch Christmas card

I stitched this Barbara Ana freebie back in January (I'm an all year Christmas crafter). I finally got around to making it up into a card today :)

I kept the card simple by using a patterned paper off cut along the bottom of a coloured card blank. I then trimmed around my stitching and mounted it on to a scrap of silver mirri card (not that you can tell by the photo lol)

I stitched the snowman with DMC threads on to a very pale blue sparkly aida :)

Cosy stripe blanket

I'm currently working on a crochet blanket for a friend, she asked me to make her something she can use in the colder weather to keep her warm when watching television.

I decided to use the Attic24 Cosy stripe pattern using my own colour choices. I went to Hobbycraft as they currently have lots of yarn on 3 for 2 and decided to go with Womens Institute DK for everything but the cream (as it looked like an off white rather than cream to me)

My colour order is as follows:
Light Purple
Cream (Bonus DK)
Light Pink

I'm currently on stripe 25 of 90 so I still have a bit to go yet! (I will also be adding a border to it) All being well it should be finished in the not too distant future as I promised my brother I'd make him one next. My sister has also requested a snowflake themed blanket and I had planned to make one for my own bed... Who knows when I'll get around to it!

Starting to blog again - My OHs Valentine gift :)

I haven't really had opportunity to blog my makes for a little while due to a major move around and sort out in my craft room (2 new bookcases and I'm still in need of more storage!) It took me so long to sort it all out as I went through EVERYTHING and got rid of anything I didn't want or need, I'm ashamed to say it took me a few weeks to get everything sorted out!!

I was crafting during this time but I was limited to cross stitch and crochet as they are my 'on the go' crafts (not just limited to the craft room) so I do have a few bit and pieces I can show in between things I plan to make in the next week or so, firstly my OHs Valentines gift....

Pail is a big music fan with Metallica being one of his ultimate favourites! The pattern is from Cloudsfactory, I decided to stitch the wording in glow in the dark thread to add a little element of fun but I couldn't capture it in a photo unfortunately :/

Dragon Hugs

I'm a big fan of dragons so I had to stitch this cute 'hugs' design. I haven't got a specific use for this card so I've added 'with hugs' on the insert so it can be used for many different occasions :)

It's stitched on 14 count pale cream aida and mounted into a red card blank from Craft Creations :)
